1. Introduction.

Within each community there are many different charities, good causes, initiatives and local services which are of vital importance to the people who live there. And many of these need help from time to time from local people who donate their time, free-of-charge, to help them deliver some or all their work, campaigns and activities.

Such organisations can, of course, include schools, community centres, home for the elderly, after-school clubs, hospitals, libraries, hospices, theatres, meals-on-wheels, museums, transport projects for the elderly and disabled, local food and farming initiatives, litter clean-ups, breakfast clubs, youth groups, medical centres, sports clubs, community foundations, advice centres, environment initiatives and local cultural or heritage projects.

Too often, it’s too easy for people simply to take these organisations, services and initiatives for granted and just expect them to always be there, come what may. But the fact is that without the vital help from a small army of volunteers, many of them would cease to exist at all.

On the other hand, however, if they had more help from even more volunteers, they could probably do so much more – i.e. help more people, stay open longer and offer a more diverse range of services, all of which help to offer even greater benefit the local population, improving the quality of life for everyone, whatever their age, background or circumstances.

2. Help Us Reach Out To Organisations In Your Community.

If you’ve got such organisations, initiatives and vital services in your community, why not make sure they’re listed on our website so that people in your community can register online and vote for them to get donations from our fund. Plus, we can work with them to identify those various volunteering opportunities so you and others can sign-up to donate your time, skills and experience to make your community a better place to live.
