Motor Neurone Disease Association.
The Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association was established in 1979 by a group of volunteers who wanted to co-ordinate support, guidance and advice for people affected by the illness. Our vision is a World free of MND. Operating across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, we work to help people with MND secure the care and support they need, while also promoting research into causes, treatments and a cure.
The Association offers a wide range of services to people affected by MND, including MND Connect (08457 626262), 15 Care Centres countrywide that provide coordinated care under one roof for people with MND, a national advice and information system, a free Equipment Loan Service, and a network of Regional Care Development Advisers (RCDAs) who offer support, advice and information for people living with MND.
We also provide training and support for Health and Social Care Professionals, a befriending service to people with MND through over 300 trained Visitors and an extensive network of more than 95 Branches and Groups run by volunteers, who raise money and provide valuable support at a local level.
