Cannabis Use Linked To Higher Risk Of Testicular Cancer.
Men who regularly use cannabis may be more likely to develop an aggressive form of testicular cancer, new research has shown.

Scientists carried out a study involving 369 men between the ages of 18 and 44, all of whom had been diagnosed with testicular cancer, as well as a further 979 cancer-free men.

They found that cannabis use was a significant risk factor for testicular cancer, independent of other known factors such as family history, tobacco smoking and alcohol consumption.

Smoking cannabis around the time of diagnosis was found to be associated with a 70% increased risk of testicular cancer, and men who smoked cannabis at least once a week or had been long-term users faced around a twofold increased risk compared with those who had never smoked cannabis.

One of the study’s authors commented: “Our study is not the first to suggest that some aspect of a man's lifestyle or environment is a risk factor for testicular cancer, but it is the first that has looked at marijuana use.”

He added that, while little is known about the long-term health consequences of smoking cannabis, “in the absence of more certain information, a decision to smoke marijuana recreationally means that one is taking a chance of one's future health”.

Around 2,100 men are diagnosed with testicular cancer in the UK each year and the disease accounts for between 1% and 2% of cancer diagnoses in men.

Make Sure You Buy The Right Size Dishwasher.

When choosing a dishwasher, make sure you choose one that's the right size for your needs.

For example, a smaller, tabletop dishwasher might be more energy-efficient for single-person household.
